FT Innovative Lawyers Report 2009 – The Change Issue

The FT Innovative Lawyers Report 2009 focused on the activities of lawyers in the light of the credit crisis and recession. It looked at how lawyers have helped their clients adapt to changing market conditions, and how they have adapted to change themselves.

As the world’s financial services industry teetered on the brink, lawyers took centre stage in many of the negotiations which ensued. As well as examining the work of lawyers for business and government in the crisis, this report also had a front row seat as outsourcing and new ways to deliver legal services began to significantly transform the legal industry.

More than 600 submissions were received from law firms across Europe and the US, with more than 500 extensive qualitative interviews with lawyers, clients, and expert commentators conducted.
