A NEW GLOBAL STUDY REPORT 29 Sep 2015
Investigating the role of the lawyer in shaping the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
Businesses face significant challenges in aligning their internal policies and practices to ensure that human rights are respected in their operations. Whilst significant progress has been made, there is still a long way to go in increasing the global respect for human rights in business practices. We recognise that lawyers have a unique and important role to play in furthering the human rights agenda. In light of this, RSG Consulting is conducting a global study that seeks to assess and analyse the current level of implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the role that lawyers are playing in shaping this process.
We are seeking and welcome input from in-house and private practice lawyers for this study. If you are interested in participating, please contact Lucy Pearson at firstname.lastname@example.org. The full report will be shared with all participants.

FT North America Innovative Lawyers Report 2014 REPORT 17 Dec 2014
The 2014 FT Innovative Lawyers Report for North America has now been published! This year we expanded the report’s scope to include Canada and Mexico, both reflecting the important role these economies play in global business. We received submissions and nominations for a greater number of law firms and in-house legal departments than ever before, increasing the competitiveness of the rankings.
The report publication followed our first awards event in the region, held at the New York Public Library. The 2014 report recognises lawyers as the architects of change in a rapidly evolving world, bringing value to their clients not only through their legal expertise, but in the way they are reinventing service delivery models. The role of the lawyer is broadening as they are ever more involved in strategy and policy, managing the burden of increased regulation and harnessing the transformative power of technologies. The report recognises lawyers at the heart of a profession in transition.
Well done to all the firms and in-house teams who achieved a ranking in the report and our Special Achievement Award winner, Robert Dell, Latham & Watkins. You can read or download the full report at FT North America Innovative Lawyers Report 2014 .
