Who is Europe’s most consistently innovative law firm?

The beginning of the new year is when everyone at RSG Consulting and the FT starts to think about the themes and contents for this year’s European Innovative Lawyers Report. But before we get too immersed in legal trends and innovation forecasting, we thought it would be interesting to look back at the firms who have been the most consistent performers since 2007, when the FT Law 50 began ranking firms on the basis of – amongst other things – their overall performance in the Report.

European Lawyers: Collaborating or Stagnating post the Crisis?

The FT’s investigation into innovation in the European legal industry is now in its fifth year. Last year we covered the lawyers’ role in the credit crisis, an extreme set of circumstances in which the lawyers took centre stage. We called the 2009 report the ‘Change’ issue as many commentators predicted that the crisis would accelerate fundamental change in the profession. Were they right? The Global Threat to Spanish Tradition

Big might be beautiful but it is by no means innovative. Now in its fifth year of publication, The Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Report continues to reward European law firms for proactive originality irrespective of transaction size.  This levelling approach has continually seen the international law firm Eversheds and regional firm Wragge & Co disrupt the traditional dominance of the UK’s magic circle firms at the top of the FT Law 50, the accompanying table of the most Innovative European Law firms. The same, however, cannot be said of Spain.
